Pinewood Derby
I am finally getting around to posting pictures from the Pinewood Derby. The boys made the cars with Big Daddy and painted them by themselves (with my help). When we got to the Derby, there were some great looking cars and most of the cars used stickers to decorate. That really made a big difference. As you can see, it was very hard for the boys to ge the lines straight without bleed through. Robert was really psyched for the race and he didn't place. It was very dissappointing for him, especially since Jonathan got third place. The two boys who got first and second were the two boys that beat Robert. It was a good learning experience for him. One of the boys even styled his car very similar to Robert's with the flag theme and the shape. They had a great time making the cars. Jonathan was very excited about getting 3rd place which made it so hard for Robert. He tried really hard to be glad for Jonathan, but he couldn't stop the tears. Even though it was so hard to watch him be disappointed, it was a good life lesson for him.
